Above is a Lucky Strike’s ad from 1942. It was designed to increase the appeal of the package to women and to make it feel both patriotic and modern. Yesterday it was printed ads and radio. Today is smartphones and Facebook. Advertising and technology are not evil. What could be evil is the message they can spread. How about if instead of making people feel like smoking we make them feel good about themselves?
