Why Buzzwords Aren’t Enough

Are you tired of hearing buzzwords thrown around in meetings and feeling like you do not truly understand what’s being said?

The world of technology can be complex and confusing, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel lost in the conversation.

As someone who has had the privilege of meeting founders, CEOs, CTOs, and investors, I’ve noticed a common theme: many talks about technology without understanding it.

They rely on buzzwords without truly diving into the underlying principles.

Here’s the thing: being a true “tech expert” isn’t about knowing every programming language or understanding the latest architecture trend. It’s about being results-oriented and taking pride in what you build.

Look for Results

The best way to spot a true tech expert is by looking at their results. Do they have a history of building successful products? Have they overcome difficult technical challenges in the past? Do they take pride in what they build and work to continuously improve it?

Don’t just take someone’s word for it when they say they’re a tech expert – look at what they’ve accomplished.

Ask Questions

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and challenge someone’s knowledge. A true expert will be able to explain complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand without relying on buzzwords or jargon.

If someone can’t explain something to you in a way that makes sense, they may not understand it themselves.

Keep Up with the Latest Trends

Technology is constantly evolving, and staying up-to-date with the latest trends is important. This will not only help you identify true tech experts but also give you a better understanding of the industry as a whole.

Being a true tech expert isn’t about spouting off buzzwords and jargon – it’s about being results-oriented and taking pride in what you build.
