I was 15 when I decided I should give a try to 3D design. I downloaded a trial version of 3D Studio Max (it took forever) and opened it. There were more controls in the screen than in a Boeing 747 console. I realized just because you can open a program it doesn’t mean you know how to use it. If you are building a cross-channel campaign management system, your product team might be having a tough time making it user-friendly. The user design simplicity principle doesn’t apply here. Instead, you should train your users on how to use it, and become power users. They are likely media analysts experts (which mean they are pretty smart), and thus they will know how to use an expert system. The system might be able to make a decision on their behalf and run on autopilot mode, but it stills need someone with a pilot license.
